When I was down beside the sea
當(dāng)我到海邊時(shí)
A wooden spade they gave to me
他們給了我一把木鏟
To dig the sandy shore.
為了挖掘沙灘。
My holes were empty like a cup,
我挖的空洞看起來(lái)像一個(gè)杯子，
In every hole the sea came up,
在每一個(gè)洞里看到了大海，
Till it could come no more.
直到挖的多的不能在挖。
