　　It is quiet in Percy’s park. Suddenly (突然), Percy and his animal friends hear some loudshouting from far away. “Help! Help!” Two rabbits run straight (徑直跑向) at Percy. “We are playing on the grass to see who jumps the highest. But the little rabbit falls into (掉進(jìn)) the well. The well eats my sister!” cries one rabbit.

　　“There’s no water in that well,” Percy says, “but it's very deep.” He takes out a long rope(繩子). Then he looks into the dark hole. But he can’t see anything. “Can you hear me?” calls Percy. “Yes, but I hit my head (磕到頭了) .” A little voice answers.

　　“We’re sending down a rope, tie it tight (把它系緊) and we’ll pull (拉) you up,” calls Percy. The little rabbit isn’t quite sure what to do, so she ties the rope tightly to a log (圓木) beside her. Suddenly, the little rabbit finds a small opening (洞) in the wall of the well. “What is it?” she asks.

　　Percy and the animal friends pull and pull. Up comes the rope. But they get a terriblesurprise ! They pull up a great big log!
